Woitek Konzal is a research assistant and PhD candidate in the ARC Centre of Excellence for Creative Industries and Innovation (CCI) in collaboration with the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS). Before coming to Australia Woitek graduated as a Master of Science in Business Administration from the European Business School (EBS) in Oestrich-Winkel, Germany. During the course of his studies he spent one semester at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in Bangkok, Thailand, and one at the Institut d’Etudes Politiques (IEP) in Toulouse, France. Since his focus has always been the film industry, he wrote his Masters thesis about it and was an intern at a film production company in Poland.
The purpose of his current research is to better understand the present phase of uncertainty in the film industry. This uncertainty stems from technological and cultural changes influencing the cinema experience for consumers and producers alike. The results are major shifts of influence and structure in the film industry.
