Liza is a post-doctoral research fellow at the Institute for Social Research at Swinburne University. She completed a PhD at the University of Melbourne in 2000 with an ethnoarchaeological study of a settlement site in north-eastern Turkey. She has more recently been working on a three year project investing media use, community formation and identity amongst Australians of Turkish descent and is currently involved with the research and evaluation component of the Youthworx initiative. Her research interests lie in the intersections between new media, social inclusion and cultural diversity.
