CCI researchers Amy Barker and Elliott Bledsoe have been funded by Story of the Future - an initiative supported by the Australia Council for the Arts in partnership with the Australian Film Television and Radio School - for their project "Remix My Lit".
Story of the Future takes Australian literature into new worlds. It helps writers develop digital, interactive and cross-platform narratives for the 21st century and develops participants’ skills in digital and cross-artform collaboration and supports the creation of content for new technology platforms driven by Australia’s rising generation of creative writers.
Remix My Lit has been funded to develop a website www.remixmylit.com, a web 2.0 online collaborative space for writers who want to get involved in remixing.
Remix My Lit will produce the world’s first remixed and remixable short story anthology. A group of established authors from around Australia will write a short story to be published under a Creative Commons Attribution ShareAlike licence. The authors’ stories will be published on the website and new, emerging writers will be invited to create their own remix to be posted on the website and considered for publication. The best remixed stories will appear in the anthology alongside the original stories. The anthology will be distributed online and in a hard copy print run under a Creative Commons license and therefore available to any other writer, or any other artist to further remix.
