Greg Hearn, Michael Keane, Gu Xin and Justin O'Connor have just completed the three city launch of the ARC linkage project 'Designing creative clusters'. In Beijing our partners from China communications university hosted a launch on 26th October, at which our Australian Industry partner Dan Hill from Arup, was present, coming from the world graphic design forum in the city. On 30th we had an open seminar at the famous M50 art cluster in Shanghai, attended by our partner from CELAP in shanghai, as well as academics and policy makers across the city. Lea Giles-Peters, State Librarian, and Tory Jones, head of Design, were also present, in town on a co-operation and exchange programme with Shanghai Library. Brent Steward from Austrade was also there. On 2nd November we moved to Qingdao where we were greeted by the Deputy mayor, head of economic reconstruction, head of culture and a range of officials. Our visit was hosted by Creative 100, and included a visit to the beer factory.
