Darryl Woodford graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Essex in the UK, before completing a Master of Science in Media Technology and Games at IT University of Copenhagen, Denmark, with a thesis examining the agency of avatars in virtual environments.His primary research considers the community regulation of online gaming environments and other platforms, whilst his other research interests include ludic structures in everyday life, cheating, the gaming industry and the contemporary use of social networks such as Twitter.
