In the vernacular book launch

University of Queensland Press in partnership with Avid Reader are delighted to invite you to the launch of Stuart Cunningham’s compelling new book In the Vernacular: A Generation of Australian Culture and Controversy on Wednesday 10 September 2008, 5.30pm for 6.00pm.

In the Vernacular brings together important writing over a twenty-year period from Stuart Cunningham who is one of Australia’s foremost scholars of media, culture and policy. Leading cultural studies expert, Meaghan Morris, describes In the Vernacular as an intellectually gripping book, ‘about the historically shifting grounds of a long-term struggle to create and sustain Australian modes of popular cultural expression.’
