The first CCI Symposium of the year will be held in conjunction with the Ideas Festival which runs from 24 - 29 March 2009, based at the State Library of Queensland. The symposium will take place as part of the last day of the Festival and then, on 30 March, it will move to the Glasshouse at QUT, Kelvin Grove Campus, Brisbane.

One of the keynote speakers at both events will be John Howkins - a leading figure in creativity, media and intellectual policy. His book, Creative Ecologies, together with John Hartley's latest book The Uses of Digital Literacy, will be launched on 29 March. These two books are the first in the new CCI book series from University of Queensland Press, edited by John Hartley and Stuart Cunningham.
